Reviews

“Having lived in San Antonio a short 5 years I was uneasy when guests were coming to town for a first time visit to the city and wanted to see the Riverwalk and the Alamo.  As a volunteer with our San Antonio Missions National Park I know first hand the importance of a good tour guide to make a visit to our city a memorable experience with some education thrown in on the side.

I contacted Scott Anderson and mentioned I had a group of 5 (two senior adults, a father and his two teenage daughters) who were anxious to visit the Riverwalk and the Alamo.  However, the heat was not something they were accustomed to, and I hoped he was willing to adapt his tour as we really would not know how much they could tolerate until we got started.  He recommended a morning time and we planned to meet.  I recognized this can be a difficult group with diverse interests.  Scott had his work cut out for him on this tour.  He didn’t disappoint!

Scott was outstanding and keenly stayed in step with the diversity of his group. Listening to him tell the story of San Antonio and walk us through the downtown area where it all began was both enlightening AND entertaining.  His knowledge and easy communication style was superb.  Due to the heat, Scott adjusted his plans so we could stop for drinks and a little recouperation.  Not one to skip an opportunity, he used this time at rest to tell us more about the history of the Riverwalk and its design.  Walking to our next stop, The Alamo, we learned about its history and meaning to San Antonio along with some touching stories of the people involved.

It was a great morning and my guests walked away feeling incredibly satisfied with their tour of San Antonio’s Riverwalk and The Alamo.  I love it when guides provide us with snippets of information that can be remembered and shared for others to enjoy about our city.

Way to go Scott and thank you for a 5-star tour!f”
